What is SBNFilter ?
BNPlayer transforms music file data in real time to localize sound sources in front of you. This translation is determined by special digital filter named SBNFilter.
Note : SBNFilter is 64k taps FIR filter.
BNPlayer is shipped with three built-in SBNFilters,
- DF-125
- DF-135 (This is default SBNFilter)
- DF-145
each has slightly different timbre.
SBNFilter Compensation
Built-in SBNFilters were calculated assuming an averaged person and ideal headphone/earphone. That means they may not be best fit to you and your headphone/earphone. You can compensate built-in SBNFilters to make them best fit to you. See Compensate SBNFilter for details.
Saving and Exporting SBNFilter
A SBNFilter has following data set.
- SBNFilter body
- Compensation factors
- Graphic Equalizer(GEQ) setting values
You can name and store compensated SBNFilter along with current GEQ value. A convenient place to store the compensated SBNFilter is BNPlayer’s home folder, a special place Mac provides for BNPlayer. A SBNFilter stored in the home folder is called saved SBNFilter. You can also store SBNFilter in any other folder you want and it is called exported SBNFilter.
See SBNFilter Operations for detail.
SBNFilter format
BNPlayer v2.0 uses new file format with extension “bnf” while BNPlayer v1.0 uses csv(comma separated value) format. BNPlayer v2.0 can’t use old csv format.
